Getting started

How does Orimentis work?

The Orimentis is built upon the foundational principles of the Socratic Method. Unlike traditional search engines or large language models that provide immediate summaries, our system is engineered to guide you toward the answer through persistent inquiry and structural hints.

When you present a problem, the Tutor analyzes the logical components of the query and responds with a foundational question designed to bridge the gap in your current understanding.

Do I need an account?

No — your first conversation doesn't require an account. Just pick your subject and start chatting. If you want to save your progress, come back to past conversations, or have unlimited sessions, create an account with just your email address.

What subjects are supported?

Our curriculum currently focuses on Maths and Sciences, aligning with major UK exam board standards.

Subject Area Exam Boards Supported
Biology AQA, Edexcel
Chemistry AQA, Edexcel
Physics AQA, Edexcel
Mathematics AQA, Edexcel

Using the tutor

Why won't it just give me the answer?

True knowledge is not found in the destination, but in the traversal of the logic path. By withholding the final solution, the Tutor forces the cognitive labor required for long-term retention. If you are feeling stuck, try asking: "Can you show me the first logical step?" instead of asking for the final result.

How to get the best out of a session?

For the most effective scholarly engagement, we recommend three habits:

01.

Provide context of what you already know. The Tutor performs best when it knows your starting point.

02.

Use precise terminology. If you are discussing 'Epistemology', use the word; the Tutor will adjust its depth accordingly.

03.

Take breaks between prompts. Socratic dialogue is meant to be reflective, not a rapid-fire exchange.

Your account & data

Intellectual Privacy

Your conversations and learning progress are private to your account. We only collect the data needed to provide the service and never share it with other students or third parties.

How do I create an account?

After your first conversation, you'll be prompted to create an account. Enter your email address and we'll send you a magic link — click it and you're in. No password needed.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Account settings and select "Delete my account." Your data is scheduled for deletion immediately but you have 30 days to change your mind by contacting us.

What data do you collect?

We collect only what's needed: your email address (if you create an account), your conversations, your exam board selections, and basic usage data. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. Read our full privacy policy for details.

Troubleshooting

The tutor isn't loading

Check your internet connection, try refreshing the page, or clear your browser cache. If you're on a school network, the site may be blocked — try on mobile data. If it's still not working, contact us.

The tutor gave me something that seems wrong

AI can occasionally make mistakes. Tell the tutor "I don't think that's right" and it may self-correct. Cross-reference with your textbook for critical facts. Use the Report button on the message to help us improve. The tutor is a study companion, not a replacement for your course materials.

I hit the message cap

Each account has a daily message limit to keep the service running smoothly. Your limit resets every 24 hours.
