Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2026

We want Orimentis to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard.

What we do

  • All pages work with screen readers
  • You can navigate the entire site using a keyboard
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • We use sufficient colour contrast throughout the site
  • All images have descriptive alt text
  • The site works in both landscape and portrait orientations
  • We don't use flashing content or unexpected auto-playing media
  • Form inputs have clear labels and error messages
  • The chat interface works with assistive technologies — tutor messages are announced to screen readers as they arrive

The chat interface

The core product is a text-based chat. We've designed it with accessibility in mind:

  • Keyboard navigation: You can type messages, send them, and navigate conversation history using only a keyboard
  • Screen readers: New tutor messages are announced using ARIA live regions. Each message is labelled with its sender (you or the tutor)
  • Text resizing: The chat interface reflows correctly when text is enlarged
  • Reduced motion: We respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting — the typing indicator and any animations are suppressed when this is enabled
  • High contrast: The interface works with high-contrast mode and forced colours

Known limitations

We're a small team and this is a work in progress. We're actively working to identify and fix accessibility barriers. If you find something we've missed, please tell us.
